This week, The Georgia Ballet will open its new season with a production of Sleepy Hollow, a ballet adaptation of Washington Irving’s iconic tale. The performances will take place from October 3 through October 6, 2024, at the Jennie T. Anderson Theater, located near Marietta Square.
For the first time, The Georgia Ballet will incorporate digital backdrops to enhance the eerie atmosphere of the haunted village of Sleepy Hollow. These visual effects will create an immersive experience, bringing the spooky legend of Ichabod Crane and the Headless Horseman to life on stage in a whole new way.
Designed to be family-friendly, the ballet is suitable for all ages, offering a Halloween-inspired experience that’s no scarier than traditional trick-or-treating. Children and parents alike can enjoy the haunting yet approachable tone of the production.
In addition to the professional company, audiences will also see young dancers from The School of The Georgia Ballet performing, adding a local, community-focused element to the show.
