A recent recall of frozen chicken products by Perdue has affected 24 stores in Cobb County. The recall was initiated due to concerns over possible contamination, prompting a nationwide alert that also includes numerous locations throughout metro Atlanta.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced the recall after it was discovered that the affected products could possibly contain metal. These products were distributed to various retail locations, including 24 stores within Cobb County, raising concerns for local shoppers.
The recall involves frozen, ready-to-eat chicken breast nugget and tender products that were distributed over the past several months. The stores included on the distribution several Target stores and Kroger grocery stores. The complete list of affected locations can be found here along with additional details about the recall.
Consumers are encouraged to check their freezers for any affected products. Perdue, a well-known poultry producer, advised customers who purchased the items to either dispose of them immediately or return them to the store for a full refund.
