The City of Mulberry’s will hold its first public meeting this Monday, September 2nd, at 6:30 p.m under the guidance of its temporary representatives. This introductory meeting will take place at the Hamilton Mill Clubhouse, located at 1669 Hamilton Mill Parkway in Dacula. This meeting will be the first formal gathering since the area’s residents voted in favor of incorporation, leading to the formation of Georgia’s newest city.
The Mulberry transition team, appointed by Governor Brian Kemp, the will oversee the city’s operations until the first City Council elections are held in November. In the meantime, the team will negotiating intergovernmental agreements and prepare for the provision of municipal services.
The transition team consists of notable figures, including House Majority Leader Chuck Efstration, State Senator Clint Dixon, State Representative Derrick McCollum, Chuck Warbington, and Jerry Hanes. Georgia law prohibits these transition team members from running for elected office in Mulberry.
