The Georgia Independent Author Association (GIAA) is gearing up to launch the first-ever Snellville Book Festival, set to take place on November 9th at Zoar United Methodist Church. The event will be held in the church’s gymnasium, located at 3895 Zoar Church Road, and will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The GIAA, which is both organizing and sponsoring the festival, is currently accepting author registrations. Spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and once all positions are filled, registration will close. Interested authors can sign up through the festival’s official website, www.snellvillebookfestival.com. A $20 registration fee, payable via the website, is required to complete the registration process.
Authors attending the event will be responsible for bringing their own tables and chairs, as the venue will not provide these items. Since the festival will take place indoors, the use of tents is prohibited. As authors confirm their participation, their names and details will be listed on the festival’s website for attendees to preview.
In addition to independent authors, traditionally published writers are welcome at the festival. GIAA has partnered with Allison Henning, owner of Wanderlust Reads, to serve as a liaison between the festival and publishing companies.
A raffle will also be held during the event, with donations coming from both community members and authors who cannot attend. The proceeds will support the Conyers Police Department’s Shop with a Cop program, which helps local families in need.
