Vice Presidential candidate JD Vance is set to speak at the Georgia Faith & Freedom Coalition dinner tonight at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Cobb County, Georgia. The event is expected to draw evangelical voters. Ohio Senator Vance, running as the vice-presidential candidate alongside former President Donald Trump, will be joined on stage by Georgia Governor Brian Kemp. This marks the first time the two will be speaking together at an event.
The event follows recent tensions within the Georgia Republican Party. In August, former President Trump publicly criticized Governor Kemp during a rally in Atlanta. However, recent efforts, including Vance’s involvement, have sought to encourage unity within the party.
Alongside Vance and Kemp, Alabama Senator Katie Britt, Congressmen Mike Collins and Barry Loudermilk, and Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr are expected to attend. The Faith & Freedom dinner is one of several stops Vance will make in Georgia this week. Democratic candidate Tim Walz, also running for vice president, is scheduled to visit the state tomorrow with stop scheduled in Macon and Atlanta. Specific details on those events have yet to be released.
